Event payment methods control how participants pay for a particular event. They do not control your SmartGig subscription. That lives in Billing.
Payment method options
- Bank transfer: show bank details and let staff manually reconcile and mark payments in SmartGig.
- PayPal: show a PayPal payment link or wording when your team handles PayPal outside SmartGig.
- Stripe Connect: let participants pay by card through the portal when Stripe is connected and ready.
Set payment methods
Create or edit the event
Open Payment Methods or the Payments tab in setup.
Choose which methods to offer
Enable one or more methods that fit your process.
Add payment details
Enter bank details, PayPal links, Stripe options, VAT settings, and payment instructions.
Save and test
Check the application form, invoice, and participant portal before asking people to pay.
Choose the right method
- Use bank transfer when your finance process relies on manual reconciliation.
- Use PayPal when your organisation already manages payments there.
- Use Stripe Connect when you want card payments recorded against participant records inside SmartGig.
Stripe Connect must be ready in Settings > Payments before staff rely on card payments. If Stripe is incomplete, use another method or finish onboarding first.
Payments
Need payments tied to the rest of the event?
SmartGig connects event applications, ticketing, invoices, balances, refunds, documents and operational records so finance is not stuck reconciling loose exports.
